A THUNDERSTORM OF FUN!

Things I spotted that made me cringe + laugh
(my boy + I are debating if that is a painting of Grizzly Adams)

Well...I did not exactly start my morning at 5:00 am, my alarm did go off, but it was pitch black so I hit snooze until it was dawn (really, who is going to have a yard sale in the dark?). I got out + about at 6:30 + was the first one to hit several sales + found tons of great things for a friend of mine who owns a vintage shop in my neighborhood. She is a thrifter, but since opening the shop she cannot get out as much so I help her out + it feeds my addiction. It was a whirl wind of people, strollers, carts, elbows, people driving really badly because they were shopping from their cars, not paying attention + overall excitement. I am really extroverted at these kinds of things because I chat with everyone, don't get me wrong, this is serious business for me, which was commented on because I looked like I was serious, armed with my backpack (filled with water, a sports drink,+ 3 protein bars) my pouch for my money + camera + my trusty pedometer (more on that later). I lasted 6 1/2 hours this year before the cool wind started blowing + the thing that everyone knew was coming started to rear it's ugly head- THE THUNDERSTORM! We dashed back to the boy's parent's house, quickly threw everything form their yard sale into garbage bags as the rain started, took the bags to the curb so that a charity truck could pick everything up + haul it away (my idea) + headed inside for a snack + to collapse!

My boy thought the ALF finds deserved their own collage
(these were found at separate yard sales)
*Note the tag: ALF $2.00 Big/ $1.00 Small

The highlights of our purchases
~~Mine~~
Amazing fabric for 10 cents + an Indian Batik printing block for $1.00
(I will have to give this a try)

I also found a Patagonia Synchilla jacket for $1.00 +
a gigantic marble cutting board for $5.00
(a BIG thank you to my boy for carrying it)
~~My Boy~~
He was happy to find Mario for $1.00 + drew quite a lot of comments carrying it around
Mario is actually a gift for some friends + will become the new mascot for their shop

~~And now for the grand totals~~
16.2 mi logged on the pedometer (that's 26.06 km)
6 1/2 hours of shopping
Loads of loot + only $27.00 spent!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was a day of happy mail, which I will share tomorrow.
Now I must go + print (to the sound of the skate punks falling off their boards). OH! I got another small Christmas card commission which I only accepted because it is for a friend + she wants a variation on a card I've already designed
(Sissy, this does not bump you to #9 on my TO DO list!)
Have a wonderful Monday evening! ~Shona
Some of the photos intrigued me, the furniture, the car. Wow must have been absolutely overwhelming all the stuff!
